Since I bought my Bernina, I've been sewing Pa'u skirts for my mother.

She's been attending Hula dance class with her friends once in every two weeks for some time, and she likes to wear Pa'u skirts there. Originally, Coral has got a set of pretty cool asymmetric sleeves. I've got a small piece of indigo linen gauze, and I couldn't think anything but making it into a cardigan blouse. I imagined it would make a very nice casual and feminine light jacket-like cardigan blouse (sorry for my wobbly English!).

I made a jersey top with a button closure (opening?) in the back. I wanted the rear neckline of the top V-shaped, so I used the pattern Balloon from TAMANEGI-KOBO and added an opening like we normally do for cardigans at the front center. It seems that the rear view made the top interesting. I also omitted the cuffs, to make this garment "funnier", and I love the result.

I'm sewing for autumn, although it's still sweating hot everywhere. Our Summer 2010 hasn't been over yet at all, but I am pretending that it's getting cooler day by day. You might know that I sewed a vogue 2900 dress the other day.

My Bernina virtuosa153 has been away for nearly a week, because it was something wrong with electrical connection at the plug socket (of the machine).

At first I thought there was a disconnection in the cable and it would be OK if I bought a new cable, but it was not the case. This is what I called "the supporting tape". It is called "woolly spin tape" in Japan. It's a elastic soft tape that is actually braided bundle of "woolly" fine elastic threads, I guess. A new dress has been done.
I sewed this very casual pretty dress, in polyester georgette and contrasting cotton/silk blend, using a pattern called "Leia" from TAMANEGI-KOBO. It was an easy sewing, except the front yoke. The seam above chest is winding as you can see in the technical drawing below, and it needed a bit of help with glues and hemming tapes to get it done neatly. I used a silver printed (silver color coated) linen, as a main body of the bag. Another outfit for exercise.




I sewed Lydia again, making it a short sleeved. I put a flowery contrasting fabric on the front body, and as you can see I sewed a pair of culottes in the same print jersey too.

The pattern I used for these culottes was JJ's Knit Culottes from BurdaStyle, I cut the pants short as well as made them slightly flared to give a skirt-y look. The rayon fabric was (and still is) 140cm wide and 120cm long. I could make a blouse or a skirt from it but I..... made it a scarf.

It took just one day to knit this easy and pretty cowl, and took another day for a pair of wrist warmers in the same yarn. It was a quick knitting and the result was very satisfying.

I knitted a purple skirt.

I'm so proud of myself being able to finish this knitting project with a satisfying result. I'd say I'm getting used to knitting! (I'm still just a seasonal and occasional knitter though.)

 I made a cape.

 I knew the fabric had been sitting in my stash for too long, but I didn't know what to do. I knew the reason why though.

 It was supposed to make a pretty poncho (cape) which had cute fringes on the edge when I bought it. I thought what I bought was a tweed, but the fabric was actually a knitted fabric. (a great mistake!) aw..
