Hi!
The other day, I sewed a pair of culottes from a new pattern and I really liked the result. I wore it on the next day and asked my husband to take some pictures of happy me in them, and what I found was that all pictures were out of focus. A very typical happy story...
The pattern is Shamrock from Tamanegi-kobo. These wide culottes have an elastic waistband and they were easy to sew. I think I'll make more pairs in the future!
The only alteration I had was for the back pockets. I added a pair of big patch pockets under the original mock flaps to make them less mock.
Have a great month, dear sewists!
love,

the cocktail was good anyway |
They are very cute and suit you well. It's not a style I see in the UK, but I like it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Outfit!!
ReplyDeleteIt suits you so much. I like the oversised pockets.
best wishes!!
These are awesome! I used to be very against culottes, but yours and another I've seen recently at Lily Sage & Co. blog, have really changed my mind. Your whole outfit is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteI adore your outfit - especially the culottes! I like the oversized pockets too. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are very fun! Beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful and they suit you. The colour is gorgeous – very cooling for spring and summer. What type of fabric did you use for these? I like the way they fall.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Barbara
Thank you Barbara for your comment! The fabric was ... well, it was one of the mystery fabrics. It looked something like a cotton/rayon tweed, but I am not sure. I got it from a jumble sale that was organized by indie designers and small clothing companies.
DeleteOh yes, those mysterious "unknown" fabrics that sometimes work out really well, as did this project.

You look so incredibly elegant in these! I never thought I'd want a pair of culottes, but now I do!
ReplyDeleteThey are absolutely fabulous! I love the shape, colour and styling with that crop top. They look wonderful on you. I made my own culottes a few weeks ago and LOVE them. I definitely need more in my wardrobe this year.
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely and somehow look so elegant on you. I am sure I would look weird in culottes, and not very classy. But maybe I should try with your image and example in mind :-)
ReplyDeleteThey look very nice on you, and the pockets were a nice addition. I like your haircut, too!
ReplyDeleteYou look so stylish in these culottes. I really like the cut, colour and the fabric.
ReplyDeleteYou always look so good in the light colors and the relaxed and interesting shapes that you choose.
ReplyDeleteStylish culottes and the large pockets are a great touch.
ReplyDeleteonly you could make culottes outrageously chic.
ReplyDeletei just went through the same thing with my husband. i think we should send all of our photographers to a point & shoot retreat.
Great culottes and styling. I think all husbands are photography challenged. Built in photographer my foot! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love your great style and clean lines. Always classic! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteLovely as always! I think that the addition of the pockets was perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love these! Especially the pockets. :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice culottes in a wonderful soft blue...
ReplyDeleteI'd like to sew a similar one, but my sewing experience and japanese isn't good enough, i think :(
